Whether they are running to "Race for the Cure" or collecting donated back-to-school backpacks for children affected by domestic violence, AIG American General employees dedicate time away from family and work to help their community. Employees across the country organize and participate in volunteer opportunities for many local and national organizations throughout the year. Below are just a few of the activities that employees took part in during 2006.
- Packing backpacks of food for hungry children for the Houston Food Bank - Houston
- Participating in WalkAmerica for the March of Dimes - Milwaukee and Dallas
- Building homes for Habitat for Humanity - Springfield
- Repairing homes for the elderly through Rebuilding Together Houston - Houston
- Volunteering and providing financial support for PENCIL Foundation benefiting Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools - Neptune/Chicago
- Water and mosquito repellent distribution for the homeless during the summer in conjunction with SEARCH - Houston
- Coaching and assisting children for Special Olympics - Houston
