Variable Universal Life Products
Wherever life takes you and your loved ones, insurance is the foundation few can afford to be without. Having life insurance can mean having fewer worries about the welfare of your family when you’re gone. And variable universal life insurance (VUL) can provide an additional benefit to your overall financial plan: a way to accumulate cash as a source of supplemental income in retirement.
What path in life will you take?
- Do you need a plan to help secure the financial well being of your family if you’re not there to care for them?
- Are you looking for tax-deferred new ways to help increase your wealth?
- Do you own a 401(k) or IRAs, but wonder what other means are available to increase your retirement income?
- What about college education? Many people are unaware that life insurance can provide an excellent way to generate cash to pay for
children’s and grandchildren’s college.
- Are you a business owner looking for tax-smart ways to keep valuable employees and ensure the longevity of your business?

- Flexible death benefit options (For complete details on how the death benefit is calculated, see current policy prospectus.)
- Flexible premium payments
- A selection of riders available to help customize your policy to provide additional coverage for children, spouse and more
- Plus, extra protection with a rider that provides a 20-year no lapse guarantee, available for no additional cost (Guarantees are subject to the claims-paying ability of American General Life Insurance Company. For more complete details, see current prospectus.)
- Issue Ages: 0 - 75
- Minimum face amount: $50,000
- Monthly Guarantee Premium Rider for First 20 Years - Minimum premiums for lapse protection during the first 20 policy years. Included at no additional charge.
- Option to Extend Coverage - This option extends coverage past the original maturity date of age 121. If you select this option, you will receive the same death benefit that was in effect immediately prior to your policy’s original maturity date.
(Policies may be subject to tax consequences when continued beyond the maturity date. Policy owners should consult a qualified tax advisor before electing this option. The policy may not qualify as life insurance under Internal Revenue Code after age 121.)
- Overloan Protection Rider - When a VUL policy funds future financial needs with policy loans, this rider can provide a valuable benefit. When certain conditions are met, this rider can prevent your policy from lapsing because of loan indebtedness, thereby preventing you from receiving a potentially large tax bill.
- Guaranteed Minimum Withdrawal Benefit Rider - This rider provides a guaranteed income for a period of at least 10 years— regardless of your policy’s investment performance—as well as a guaranteed death benefit. There is an additional charge for this rider.
- Enhanced Early Cash Value Term Rider - Attaching this rider can increase early year cash values. There is an additional charge for this rider.
- No Tobacco Use Incentive Program - Allows tobacco users to receive Standard Non-tobacco rates for the first three years of the policy. If, before the end of the third policy year, the owner provides evidence the insured has quit tobacco use and a satisfactory health statement, these rates will continue.
(Not all riders are available in all states. There may be a charge for each rider you select. Adding or deleting riders and increasing or decreasing coverage under existing riders can have tax consequences. Policy owners should consult a qualified tax advisor.)
- Accidental Death Benefit Rider - Pays an additional death benefit of up to $200,000 if the insured's death is accidental.
- Waiver of Monthly Deduction Rider - This rider provides a waiver of all monthly charges assessed for both your policy and any riders should you become totally disabled. Please note that this rider can only be purchased at the time the policy is issued.
- Terminal Illness Rider - Provides an accelerated death benefit if the insured is diagnosed with a terminal illness and has less than 12 months to live.
- Spouse/Other Insured Term Rider- Provides term insurance on the insured's spouse, up to two times the base policy's death benefit. It can be converted into any other insurance (except term) available for conversion.
- Children's Insurance Benefit - Provides term life insurance coverage on the eligible children (dependent, up to age 19) of the person insured under the policy. It can be converted into any other insurance (except term) available for conversion.
