Web Site Log In

How can employers and employees access their coverage information?
Employees and employers can access confidential information on the secured pages of the Web site using a user names and password:

  • Employers – User name is indicated on the Welcome Letter. When the employer logs in for the first time, they will be prompted to set up a password.
  • Employee – Employees can establish their user name and passwords when they log in to www.americangeneral.com/employeebenefits for the first time. In order to establish a user name, the employee will have to accurately enter three pieces of personal information.

Licensing and Appointment

Where can I obtain licensing forms?
Licensing forms can be obtained via the Producer Private Web site or via CustomPoint. Please note that licensing forms are only available electronically. If you do not have access to the Producer Private Web site, call 800-631-5777.

If I have a question about licensing with Employee Benefit Solutions, whom do I call?

Quoting

What is the quote turnaround time for manually-rated cases?
24 hours or less for 25-life cases and below, quotes are taken instantaneously over the phone.

Need to find a previous proposal?
The advanced search tool allows you to search by the name of the group or proposal number.

Can I run a flat schedule for life without inputting actual salary amounts?
Yes, but there must be some values inserted in the salary column. A single digit will suffice.

How does an employer add an employee to a group plan?
To add a new employee to a group plan, employers can use our online enrollment tool via our Web site or submit a fully completed group enrollment form to:

As plan administrator you can enroll employees on-line and in real time using the Virtual Administrator! To access, visit www.americangeneral.com/employeebenefits, click on the Virtual Administrator Tutorial. When introduction concludes, click "Enroll New Employees". When tutorial ends, log in with your login ID and password. Note: Please keep completed enrollments forms on file.

How does an employer change an employee’s enrollment to their group plan?
Depending on the type of change being made, an employer should submit a Reporting Summary or a letter on the company letterhead, advising of salary or class changes. If an employee is adding or deleting coverage for themselves or their dependents, they must complete a new group enrollment form, indicating "Change" in the upper-right corner of the enrollment form. Only contributory coverages can be waived.

How does an employer terminate an employee's coverage?
Terminations may be reported via telephone at 877-672-1648, on a reporting summary or via our Web site.

How does an employer change their current group plan?
Changes to their plan may require an amendment to their group policy. Employers should call the Tampa Solutions Center at 877-672-1648 and someone will be able to help them with their request or direct their call to our sales support area.

Who should an employer call with questions regarding their premium statement?
Have them call the Tampa Solutions Center at 877-672-1648. In addition, our Interactive Voice Response (IVR) feature can provide information such as current billing information, payment history and billing adjustments, 24/7.

Who should employers contact regarding status of an employee's application(s)?

I'm a Third Party Administrator appointed with the company. Where will my business be administered?
Your business will be administered by Employee Benefit Solutions in Neptune, NJ.


Self-Administered

What groups are eligible for self billing?
Employer groups that have a minimum of 500 lives and are only insuring Life, AD&D, Long-Term Disability and/or Short-Term Disability may elect self billing. We do not offer self administration to any group with dental, vision, employee-paid or worksite coverages.

Does a group that meets the required criteria need to request self billing?
Yes. A group that meets the self billing criteria, as indicated above, will be home office billed unless it is requested to be self billed.

What are the group’s responsibilities for self billing?
The group is responsible for preparing its own premium statements using the online Self Billing Administrator that is created specifically for them. The coverage volumes and lives must be determined by the group based on their billing mode. These values are then input into the online Self Billing Administrator which will calculate the premium due. All premium remittances must be made through the Self Billing Administrator which will draw the funds directly from the employers checking or savings account.
